Day 1, Wed. Zagreb
Meeting and assistance and transfer to hotel. Remainder of day at leisure. This evening’s welcome dinner offers an opportunity to meet the tour director and fellow travelers. (D)
Day 2, Thu. Zagreb
This morning’s tour of Zagreb, Croatia’s northwestern capital, will include the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the majestic Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. Remainder of day at leisure to stroll the winding streets of the old town, relax at a café or take an optional excursion to the countryside. (B)
Day 3, Fri. Plitvice Lakes – Split
Today enjoy the drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The walking tour is around several of the lower lakes to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of terraced lakes, thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. Continue to the port city of Split. This evening is free to enjoy the city. (B, D)
Day 4, Sat. Split – Hvar
This morning enjoy the walking tour of the historic inner city built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then on to see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral of St. Duje. There will be some free time before boarding the ferry to sail to Hvar Island. (B, D)
Day 5, Sun. Hvar
This morning’s walking tour features views of the Fortress, the Franciscan Monastery and more. Hvar is an island in the Adriatic sea and a unique cultural and historical island with a centuries-old tradition in tourism and was named as one of the world’s most beautiful islands by Conde Nast. (B)
Day 6, Mon. Hvar – Dubrovnik
Return to the mainland this morning and continue to the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik. Drive along the picturesque Croatian coast and witness the world-famous natural beauty of the area. Enjoy the city this evening. (B, D)
Day 7, Tue. Dubrovnik
The walking tour this morning is in Old Dubrovnik. See the Rector’s Palace, the Bell Tower clock, Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery and the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy – one of the oldest in the world. Remainder of day at leisure to enjoy a stroll along the coastline or shop. (B)
Day 8, Wed. Dubrovnik – Montenegro
Travel to the Republic of Montenegro to the beautiful Bay of Kotor the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Enjoy a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks one of the two islets off the coast of Perast. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest building on the islet with a museum attached to it. Upon return to the coast stop in Perast, an old charming coastal town. Visit the city of Kotor before returning to Dubrovnik. This evening is at leisure. (B)
Day 9, Thu. Dubrovnik
Transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
