Day 1, Sat. Split
Meeting and assistance and transfer to the port for embarkation. Enjoy the welcome reception this evening and meet the tour director and fellow passengers (light supper included).
Day 2, Sun. Split – Bol – Stari Grad
Morning guided walking tour of Split features the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, it’s Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Set sail towards Bol, a small town on the island of Brac, for a swim at the Golden Horn. Enjoy the 1740 foot long golden pebble beach said to be the best in Croatia. It is unique in that it changes shape and position depending on the winds. Afterwards head to Hvar, one of the most popular islands in the Adriatic and a meeting point for the international jet-set. This evening is at Stari Grad one of the oldest towns in Europe. (B, L)
Day 3, Mon. Stari Grad – Hvra – Vis
A short sail towards the town of Hvar for a sightseeing tour featuring the first public theatre in Europe (older than Shakespeare’s theatre in the UK), The Franciscan Monastery and many more historical sights. Cruise towards the i sland of Vis, the antique Issa was founded around 397 B.C. The tour features the town’s waterfront. This evening is at leisure. (B, L)
Day 4, Tue. Vis – Vela Luka
After breakfast set sail for Korcula Island, thought to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. The port of call for the day is Vela Luka (the “big harbor”) town, dating back to pre-historic times. After lunch on board disembark in Vela Luka and depart for an afternoon ‘Korcula island tour’, featuring a visit to the olive oil factory, Barilo Ethno Museum and a local winery for a wine and cheese tasting. Return to the ship for an evening at leisure. (B, L)
Day 5, Wed. Vela Luka – Korcula
This morning there will be time for a swim before heading for Korcula town. Take a walking tour through its narrow, cobbled streets and visit the majestic Gothic Baroque Cathedral of St. Mark. The evening is free to discover the town and enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants. (B, L)
Day 6, Thu. Korcula – Mljet
Set sail today for Mljet island. Mljet National Park features five types of forest, many species of birds and two deep lakes. Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Small Lake). This lovely island was supposedly a favorite holiday spot for the Greek hero Ulysses. Enjoy the Captain’s dinner with entertainment this evening. (B, L, D)
Day 7, Fri. Mljet – Dubrovnik
This morning sail to Dubrovnik – aka – the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, a UNESCO World Heritage site. While in Dubrovnik, take a walking tour of the old town and visit the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. Remainder of day at leisure. (B, L)
Day 8, Sat. Dubrovnik
After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
