AEGEAN I ITINERARY​

Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure.

Day 2, Sun. Athens
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of the capital’s classical sights which includes the fascinating Acropolis with its majestic Parthenon rising above the city and the Acropolis Museum. Drive past the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Royal Palace, Panathenian Stadium, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)

Day 3, Mon. Athens – Piraeus – Cruise: Mykonos
Transfer to Piraeus harbour to board the cruise ship for passage to Mykonos. Upon disembarkation transfer to the hotel. Overnight Mykonos. (B, L)

Days 4, 5 & 6, Tue., Wed. & Thur. Mykonos
Three full days at leisure to explore the island known for its fantastic beaches and exciting nightlife. Stroll the narrow picturesque streets, visit one of the many chapels and save one day to visit the sacred island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. (B)

Day 7, Fri. Mykonos – Cruise
This evening transfer from the hotel to the cruise ship. (B, D)

Day 8, Sat. Cruise: Kusadasi – Patmos
The first port of call today is Kusadasi, Turkey, gateway to the ancient Greek colony of Ephessos founded by the Athenians and said to be the largest and best preserved ancient city in the world. This afternoon sail to the sacred island of Patmos where St. John lived and wrote the Book of Revelations in the celebrated Grotto of the Apocalypse. The monastery built on one of the island’s highest points contains priceless icons and manuscripts. (B, L, D)

Day 9, Sun. Cruise: Crete – Santorini
This morning’s call will be at Heraklion, the capital of Crete and home to the Palace of Knossos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture. Santorini – fabled to be the lost continent of Atlantis. Visit the charming and romantic old world village of Oia. (B, L, D)

Day 10, Mon. Cruise: Piraeus
Cruise ship returns early this morning to Piraeus harbor. Transfer to the airport upon disembarkation. (B)

Day 2, Tue. Athens
Morning sightseeing features the Parthenon’s crowning beauty atop the Acropolis, the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the beautifully preserved Theseum, the Temple of Zeus and the Theatre of Dionysus. The remainder of day is at leisure to stroll around the Plaka or enjoy one of the many museums. (B)

Day 3, Wed. Athens – Delphi
Depart this morning on a full day tour to Delphi ascending the Sacred Way to the Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of Apollo where for 14 centuries the Oracle spoke. Return to Athens early this evening. (B, L)

Day 4, Thu. Athens
Day at leisure to enjoy Athens or choose from one of the optional tours. (B)

Day 5, Fri. Athens – Piraeus – Cruise: Mykonos
Morning pick-up from hotel and transfer to Piraeus harbour to embark on the cruise ship for passage to Mykonos. Upon disembarkation in Mykonos transfer is provided to the hotel. Overnight in Mykonos. (B, L)

Days 6 & 7, Sat. & Sun. Mykonos
Two full days at leisure to enjoy the beauty of Mykonos – the hundreds of tiny chapels, the white-washed windmills and the flower-lined streets. Leave time to take a short cruise to the sacred island of Delos to see the white marble lions, birthplace of Artemis and Apollo. (B)

Day 8, Mon. Mykonos – Cruise
Pick-up from hotel this evening and transfer to the cruise ship. (B, D)

Agios Nikolaos, CreteDay 9, Tue. Cruise: Kusadasi – Patmos

Day 10, Wed. Cruise: Rhodes
Enjoy a full day on the “island of roses.” Visit the Palace of the Knights and the white-washed village of Lindos, home to the impressive Temple of Athena on the bay of St. Paul. (B, L, D)

Day 11, Thu. Cruise: Heraklion – Santorini
Sail to Heraklion home to the ruins of King Minos’ Palace of Knossos. Later, the ship anchors beneath the cliffs of Santorini, fabled to be the lost continent of Atlantis. The main town of Thira is accessible by donkey, cable-car or foot. (B, L, D)

Day 12, Fri. Cruise: Piraeus
Disembark early this morning and transfer to the airport. (B)
